The C3L (Cross-Cut Cruise Laminate) styles are designed as a cross-cut laminate for cruising sails. Developed as a result of our advancements in off-angle fibre placement, the C3L range combines a formed square scrim with off-angle fill yarns to create a symmetrical laminate with angular stability in the fill direction. The off-angle fill fibres at 20° and 30° on either side of the weft provide support in the cross direction while the square scrim places fibers directly on the fill and the warp. A single 1.5 mm film is used whilst the warp and fill fibres are still fully encapsulated for optimal durability and reduced water absorption. All adhesive layers include a mildew agent. The off-angle intersections of the 1000 denier fill fibres greatly increase tear resistance compared to the smaller denier parallel fill yarns found in a square scrim. These styles are fibre-heavy with 4 layers of intersecting yarns - 2 x angles and the formed scrim made from warp and fill yarns. CROSS CUT CRUISING LAMINATE: C3L
