![]() If you already own, have recently invested in, or are thinking of investing in a furling system we would like to introduce the Contender ACL Cruising range, especially developed for furling and cruiser racer sails. Durability, manageability and performance are the three major parameters for cruising sails demanded by the ever-more-discerning cruising racing sailor. ACL Cruising laminates are a range of fabrics developed to meet each of these criteria. ♦ Durability The sandwich taffeta construction provides superb abrasion resistance and all-round durability through betetr shape holding. ♦ Manageability A unique combination of polyester scrim and a thin layer of Mylar and polyester taffetas provides a soft feel for ease of handling. ♦ Performance This unique scrim construction provides low warp and weft stretch, ensuring the designed sail shape is retained in the sail over a wider wind range. ACL Cruising laminates offer excellent performance and extra dimensional stability for a given weight. This sought-after combination of qualities is derived from the amalgamation of polyester scrim, Mylar film and tightly-woven polyester taffeta in a sandwich construction. The excellent performance-to-weight ratio of these laminates gives improved light-air performance. The low stretch means better shape holding throughout a given wind range, providing greater speed and less heel. With their sandwich construction for unrivalled durability, the ACL products represent the ultimate in cruising laminates. ACL Cruising laminates are specifically designed for radial roller furling genoas and fully battened mainsails and are ideal for club and cruising racing genoas alike. ACL CRUISING LAMINATES

When kept on their furling system for any length of time furled sails should be covered with a sleeve to protect against sunlight and dirt. |
