From the age of six, Jan has been sailing on the Loosdrecht Lakes in the Netherlands. Looking for adventure, Jan was pointed to Australia at the age of twenty by his then sailing friend Guus Bierman and business partner now. He has been involved with sailing and sailcloth ever since for many years now and the list of regattas Jan attended is endless.
Jan is a Laser Standard Master World Champion and made history by winning the first double handed Sydney Hobart in 2021. Although he has had big wins, to Jan sailing is all about competition, friendships and fitness and there will be a day he will go cruising on a comfortable catamaran.
