Joris has previously sailed several dinghy classes as a young sailor. At 17 he developed a passion for yacht racing and spent 8 years competing week in week out in many weekend regattas, race weeks and offshore races, including two Sydney to Hobart races.
Currently he enjoys cruising around on the family boat leaving some time on the weekend for other sports and activities. Outside of sailing he has worked in the marine industry for almost 10 years including the last five at Contender Australia.
